Representative Imee Romualdez Marcos
2nd District, Ilocos Norte

  • Congresswoman Imee R. Marcos is on her second term in the House of Representative.

  • She is the vice-chairman of the following committees: Appropriations, Accounts and Foreign Affairs

  • Her key legislations are focused on transnational crime, foreign policy, appropriations or national budget, women's concern, local tax, piracy, communications, labor, environment and youth.

  • Her first stint in politics was as an Assembly woman in the Batasan Pambansa from 1983-1986.

  • But prior to politics, Imee produced eleven years (1975-1986) two famous Filipino children shows namely: "Kulit Bulilit" and "Kaluskos Musmos" -- where today's Batibot originated.

  • For five years (1981-1986), Imee was director-general of experimental cinema of the Philippines and produced: Oro, Plata, Mata; Himala; Misteryo sa Tuwa and Soltero.

  • She co-produced with Marilou Diaz-Abaya the movie Brutal; with Peque Gallaga, Scorpio Nights; and Tikoy Aguiluz, The Boatman.

  • Imee also produced and wrote animation featuring Nonoy Marcelo's Da Real Makoy and Lam-Ang, among others.

  • Imee also held the following positions:

    (1996 to present) President/Executive Producer of Renegade Filmamakers
    (1983-1986) Assembly Woman of the Second District of Ilocos Norte
    (1975-1986)Founding Chair of the Kabataang Barangay Foundation
    (1975-1986) Producer of Metro Magazine
    (1977-1979) Consultant/Writer of the Children's Television Workshop for Asia and New York.

  • She has three sons namely: Fernando Martin "Borgy" whois 19 years old; F.R. Michael, 16 years old and Matthew Joseph, 13 years old.

 


Scholastic Record

  • Imee obtained her degree in Politics and Religion from the Princeton University in New Jersey, USA and Bachelor of Laws in the University of the Philippines -- both with honors.

  • She also took up post graduate courses at: UP College of Law in Diliman, Quezon City -- where she studied as a scholar for four years and graduated Cum Laude; Asian Institute of Management in Makati; Princeton University in America; National University of Singapore where she learned to speak French and dialectical Arabic. She is also articulate in speaking Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Elementary Mandarin and Japanese.

  • Imee likewise graduated valedictorian in her school Santa Catalina Convent, Monterey, California, USA.
