Aside from a monthly allowance of P500.00, this bill
grants additional privileges and benefits to Barangay
Tanods, such as Free legal services, Preference in
the availment of and/or membership in barangay livelihood
and development projects, Christmas bonus, insurance
coverage, monthly hazard pay and clothing allowance
- Barangay Tanods likewise enjoy security of tenure
and may not be removed except upon causes provided
in this bill and such other causes approved by the
sangguniang barangay
- A training linkage and coordination, as to information
gathering and other related functions, with the Philippine
National Police is mandated by this bill to enhance
the capabilities of Barangay Tanods and ensure responsiveness
and efficiency in the discharge of their duties
